We are just about done with our fourth week (one month!) of studying and living in Guatemala. We only have two weeks left and the time continues to go fast. Most of our week is spent studying and attending classes.
Clearly we have to many note cards...
Tyler had afternoon classes with teacher Marium for one week
Josiah has a new teacher, Melisa, who we all love!
Emma is still loving living with our Spanish family, especially Fatima, the little girl who lives with our host family. They play every day and enjoy every moment.

This week was special in our house because another student and our host mom each had a birthday this week. We don't really know the other student, so I didn't post pictures, but I did post a picture of our host mom, Amanda, with her birthday cake and candle. Also below you can see two videos of her husband serenading his wife with happy birthday songs!

Happy Birthday Song - all the verses (and the countdown)
(this was for the house guest, so the countdown only went to 29)
Here her husband continues to sing for her - he sang for hours!
We did go on on one adventure this week, to visit a chocolate factory in a nearby village. While we were able to buy some amazing chocolate, a huge rainstorm made it so we could not actually go on the tour to see the process of making the chocolate. But we have chocolate, so that was a win! The rain was so bad, some streets flooded to the point where we could not see car tires driving down the road because they were underwater! And all this rain fell in less than 2 hours!
Emma enjoyed her umbrella
While I didn't get the flooded streets in a picture,
we did have to cross this street - it was a bit deeper than ankle high
This weekend we head to the other side of Guatemala to Tikal - some of the most famous ruins of the Mayan civilization! Stay tuned for pictures!
The host's husband's voice is very good!
