This weekend was full of family adventures! We went on the zip-line (pictures below), shopping in the mercado (quite an adventure!), Tyler ran a half marathon, and we went to the supermarket for some flashcard games to help the kids learn new vocabulary. The zip-line was lots of fun, seven zip-lines total, each longer than the one before it! The kids loved it, the scariest part was the ride up to the zip lines as it was quite bumpy and there were several tight corners where we were close to falling down the mountain (at least it felt that way). Pictures below:

Waiting for our turn!

The bus ride was quite bumpy
The mercado was exciting with people everywhere and lots of yelling as venders tried to get us to come over and look at their merchandise. We bought a few souvenirs, but that is about it. Sunday morning Tyler ran his half-marathon, which was 21km (a bit shorter than a true half marathon). But he finished in 237th place out of 2210 runners in my category (men under 40) with a time of 1:45:47. Pictures below:
Do you see him?
He finished!
Other than that it was a simple weekend including frozen yogurt (they made it fresh right in front of us, we just had to select the frozen fruit they added!) and Dominoes Pizza (not very Guatemalan). We are ready for week 2 of classes to start tomorrow!
