Colombia Day 2: Salt Mine and Farm Day

Today was our longest day yet (okay, we have not been here that long), but lots of fun. We started with a tour of a salt mine. The miners, very devout Catholics, have built a Cathedral inside the mine so they can pray for their safety while they work. We took many pictures of this beautiful mine.

As you approach the Cathedral (about 1 km deep in the mountain)

After the mine we went to a farm to learn about how Bolivian farms operate. We ate an amazing lunch that they prepared for us, toured their crops, learned how to milk cows, herded sheep, fed the calves, and made cheese (which was amazing!). Enjoy the pictures:

Our cheese is ready to eat!

Oh, and we found a mechanical bull. Not really a Bolivian activity... but it was a fun challenge for the kids (and Tyler).

Tyler couldn't resist either...

And now for the food, not as much to post today, but it was really good stuff:

Lunch today on the farm was amazing!
