Graduation Day!

Friday was graduation day for our Spanish classes. First, the school did a special party for us with "Ollas Encantadas" which are like pinatas, but they are clay pots full of candy! Below are pictures of us breaking the pots:

Emma made the pots for us and decorated them with her teacher

Emma got the first hit

Josiah took out the second pot

Tyler took out the third (and almost the window)

Nicole took out the fourth

We also each gave a short presentation to the school as our final project for the classes. Emma had to memorize her speech. The rest of us got to read them!

Tyler talked about traditional Ecuadorian Games

Josiah talked about the rules of the Ollas Encantadas

Emma talked about the history of the Ollas Encantadas

Nicole gave a bit of the background of the Ollas Encantadas

At the end of our last day of class there was a small "graduation" to celebrate all we have learned over the past three weeks of lessons. It was lots of fun to see our progress and celebrate with our teachers

Emma graduation with teacher Evalyn

Josiah graduation with teacher Carmen

Nicole graduation with teacher Rosa

Tyler graduation with teacher Patricia

Not to exciting of a post today, as we wrapped up our classes on Friday. Saturday we travel to the capital city of Quito and Sunday we will have our big tour day. There will be many more pictures in the next post.
